Charity Water will always inspire us. Although the September Campaign has come and gone this video is always worth sharing. Their persistence in working to bring clean water to the men and women throughout the world is truly incredible.

NURU and the MPAT

NURU is doing amazing things in the field of sustainable development as a means to end global poverty. They have an extremely innovative methodology and lot’s of steam moving forward.

They recently partnered with the UN to deliver to new type of field assessment used to track and ultimately fight global poverty called the MPAT.

My Charity Water: Splash Zone

Stories are a constant source of inspiration for us and ultimately the vision that keeps us alive. We can’t wait to finally build a web platform that allows you to tell the stories of change that your a part of creating.

Here is a really incredible story.

Laura Surovik has been incredibly passionate about life saving work of Charity: Water for some time now. She’s an incredible woman with so much passion about the need for clean water in developing countries. About a year ago she was able to Visit africa with her daughter and was even more inspired by her vision of helping bring clean water to people there. Just a few short months back she started a My Charity Water Campaign and a few weeks ago and it was COMPLETELY FUNDED! AND THEN SOME! She helped raise $5,000 to build a well in Africa for a village in dire need of clean water.

Knowing Laura and knowing how dear this mission has been to her heart it’s incredibly encouraging to see the start of her vision coming to fruition. I can’t wait to see what’s next for Laura and the things she will do for clean water.

SOS: Save Our Supplies - Doc 2 Dock

Doc 2 Dock is an International Humanitarian Organization that ships unused medical supplies from the U.S. to developing countries who need them. It’s a very clear simple mission and has a huge impact on the doctors, nurses, clinics and hospitals who receive the supplies are are able to help care for more people because of it.

Here’s a really awesome video that explains Doc 2 Dock’s mission.

We’re already super huge fans of this organization, there are real doctors behind the vision, they’ve used great design and creativity in telling their story and they offer multiple ways to get involved!

Creativity + UNICEF + Google = Donate A Word

UNICEF has teamed up with Google to create a really inspiring and creative campaign to create more donations to help get education to developing countries.

Two Miami Ad School students Lisa Zeitlhuber and Katharina Schmitt, came up with the idea and turned it into a reality.

Google is running a campaign for the next few days called “Chrome for a Cause”.

You install an extension in your Chrome browser and every time you open a new tab you’ll get a point - accumulated points are donated on the 19th to a Cause, Including Charity:Water, MSF and Room to Read.

We got to meet Jake Harriman earlier this year and we couldn’t be more amazed and impressed with the story of fighting on behalf of others. Being Human Project is a huge supporter of Nuru and all the work they do.

Nuru International has establish a totally innovative holistic and sustainably focused approach to fighting and ending extreme poverty. This December they are getting every donation matched dollar-for-dollar. Check out the work that Nuru is doing and be part of the solution in Kenya.

My good friend Mark Horvath, Founder of InvisiblePeople.tv, has launched a parallel campaign to his current efforts to end homelessness called “WeAreVisible.com“. As stated in a recent press release:

WeAreVisible.com’s mission is to give people dealing with poverty and homelessness the tools they need to get online and have a voice. The site teaches them how to sign up for email, open a Twitter account, join Facebook, create a blog and, in general, take advantage of the benefits of online social media. It also has the potential to become a model for virtual case management as it helps build a community among homeless people and support service providers…

Horvath is currently reaching out to public libraries across the U.S. to inform homeless people about the new WeAreVisible.com site.

“While many homeless people frequent public libraries and have access to the Internet, they need help learning how to use social media,” he added. “WeAreVisible.com is designed to make it easy for them to connect with one another, tell their stories and find support services.”…

The site is designed to load on just about any computer, and includes video and written tutorials. The “Why Social Media” page features personal stories from homeless people discussing how social media has already impacted their lives.

“Social media is transforming how people from all walks of life communicate,” Horvath concluded. “The homeless have been among the last to benefit… but we’re determined to change that!”

Excited about getting a new splash page up tonight! We’ve had some minor set-backs but are still pumping through with creating a web-platform that is blurring the line between individual and organization working to change the world!

Our new splash will have a Email Signup list - We would absolutely love to keep in touch with you and get your thoughts and feedback as we keep pushing forward on this story-based micro-philanthropy network.

Every August one of the most incredible non-profit organizations doing all kinds of amazing things gears up for what they call “The September Campaign”. Charity:Water is again launching their annual campaign to encourage you to give up you birthday and instead have your friends and family make donations in your name to help build wells for clean water in the Central African Republic.

It’s a wonderful campaign from an even more wonderful organization and this year, even if your not born in september, you can help make a difference in the lives of the men, women and children of the C.A.R. by making the choice to be part of the solution.
